Fear of crime refers to the fear of being a victim of crime as opposed to the actual probability of being a victim of crime. It can also be defined as the "collective anxiety of the inhabitants of a region, city or country, which comes from the fear of a possible victimization of themselves or their close ones by violent and/or criminal attacks". This survey is anonymous and its data will only be used for the analysis of Urban Fear of Crime through cartographic visualizations and geographic analyses of the responses.

Instructions for completing the questionnaire: Since this research mainly focuses on the spatial dimensions of the phenomenon, it is particularly important, to geographically indicate your house location as accurately as possible. Completing this questionnaire should not take more than ten (10) minutes of your time.

If you used an identifying token to access this survey, please rest assured that this token will not be stored together with your responses. It is managed in a separate database and will only be updated to indicate whether you did (or did not) complete this survey. There is no way of matching identification tokens with survey responses.
